Goals for 2011
- able to provide teachers guidelines (best practices)
- need a mantra - how to keep in thought for any project that has potential to be shared
Need an empowering statement for teachers to get started... then categories with red flags
Ball State Conference in April
- Copyright and Chapels - draft document
- Copying video tapes policy - email from S. Schneberger
'09 - '10 GOALS - Agreed upon at our October meeting:
PCAT members will become experts in copyright-friendly resources to be able to share with our community.
Get a statement from Phil similar to what he told us in June - that best first step is to be pro-active, avoid copyrighted resources. Would like this as a video clip - could send out in an email with a link.

From our JUNE 2009 Meeting with Phil Riley:
Judy and Anne willing to help get clarification on public performance rights - start developing relationships with companies to help close the gap.
Last meeting from Phil: From now on, would like to see different departments involved come together beforehand so that there are no encumbrances. (Marketing, Admissions, etc.)
Do we have a central place to keep permission resources and information? PCAT and Phil and user should have copies of what was gotten.
Need a form- who will create?
In Elsah, the music department keeps a list of what was used during the school year and then it is sent to the companies.
Recorded - one copy kept and can be checked out and viewed.
Who negotiates the rights for the plays? (No one knew for sure - thinks it is the Drama Department.)

Need a better web presence. The current copyright website is outdated and not very user friendly. Let's brainstorm for ways that we can make it better and plan steps to move it forward. (Does the page still exist?) still available from Library home page - Q&A on copyright
